Yesterday the First Minister confirmed that the virus is spreading again in Scotland so reminds everyone of the need to “take this seriously and do all of the right things”. Forth Valley is reporting an increase in cases so we need to make sure we are doing what we can to reduce any spread.
Falkirk Council’s Environmental Health & Trading Standards Unit is receiving information that some businesses may not be following government Covid19 guidance requirements to the full extent. We are following up reports made by members of the public, or where information comes from our NHS colleagues involved in contact tracing, but we are asking all businesses to make sure they are strict on the following:-
- No more than 3 households are permitted to meet indoors up to a maximum of 8 individuals. This should be checked at the time of booking, or for walk-ins as they enter the premises. Multiple table bookings cannot be accepted. No more than 5 households are permitted to meet outdoors up to a maximum of 15 individuals.
- Contact tracing information (name and contact number) must be recorded for every sit-in customer. The only exception is where this involves a small household group when one person’s details can be taken for the household. If 3 individuals are meeting from different households all 3 names and contact numbers must be recorded. Contact tracing information may be requested by the Test & Protect team at very short notice so you must make sure that it is available, accurate, and legible.
If you are unclear of your responsibilities or require further advice on the Covid controls you should have in place please contact your area Environmental Health/Food Safety Officer or
email.
Spot checks are being carried out by Environmental Health & Trading Standards Officers and the Police.
