SCI-FI CON – FALKIRK INVASION 1st September 2018

The Howgate Centre teamed up with CHAS and Falkirk Delivers to bring a brand new event to Falkirk town centre.

The not-for-profit family event will donate all proceeds raised on the day to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland – better known as CHAS.  CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides hospice services for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. The national charity offers palliative care and respite for the whole family via its two hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch.

The whole event was organised by superhero fundraiser Keith Armour and his team of cosplayers who do it for a good cause.  Laura Campbell, Community Fundraiser, CHAS said “Keith and his incredible team of supporters have now raised over £187,000 in three years. At CHAS, we want to make sure that, wherever there’s a child in Scotland with a life shortening condition, we’re on hand to support their entire family. The event ran from 10am – 4pm with the following displays being enjoyed by all who attended :

The DeLorean from Back to the Future, Lightning McQueen, the Walking Dead bike were located at the Steeple.  At least 20 traders selling related merchandise and face painters were also be located on the High Street.

The event raised £5634.90 on the day for CHAS.
