Make Christmas in Falkirk a merry season for everyone

ANYONE thinking of causing anti-social behavior this Christmas should take their chances elsewhere – Falkirk’s strictly a no go zone. That is the message that Police Scotland and local retailers cascaded at the launch of Operation Christmas this week.

The 7-week initiative which officially launched on 23rd November 2015 aims to crack down on crime and disorder by providing a strong police presence in the town centre at all times of the day. Police Scotland will increase the number of officers, both uniformed and plain clothes, on patrol from now until New Year.

Falkirk Delivers, Assistant Manager Sarah McKenzie said: “Operation Christmas is an integral part of our ‘It’s Friendlier in Falkirk’ and Festive campaign . It’s been a very good partnership between businesses and the police for a number of years. All partners work together to deter criminals.

”Falkirk is just not an option for shoplifters or troublemakers this Christmas – the chances are, if you commit a crime in the town, you will be arrested.”

If you have any information with regards to anti-social behaviour within the town centre please call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
