Falkirk’s Success at Best Bar None Scotland National Awards 2018

Falkirk’s Success at Best Bar None Scotland National Awards 2018

Two of our town centre businesses scooped key national awards at a glittering ceremony in Dunblane Hydro recently which celebrated excellence in the licensing trade in Scotland.

Congratulations to the teams at Sportsters Falkirk, national winner of Best Bar and Behind the Wall who were received a Platinum Award for Continued Excellence at the recent  National Best Bar None Scotland Awards.

Also nominated for their Innovation in Social Responsibility  was The Corbie Inn, Bo’ness.

The Best Bar None scheme, which is supported by The Scottish Business Resilience Centre and a host of industry partners  is an integral part of the Safer Communities Initiatives across Scotland.

Sporsters: National Winner – Best Bar

Behind the Wall: Independent Bar Finalist & Platinum Award Winner

Sharon Manson, Assistant BID Manager at Falkirk Delivers who manage the Falkirk scheme commented:

“Best Bar None in Falkirk has enjoyed success in the National Awards in previous years and it is fantastic to see our businesses, once again, receive national recognition. This and other projects like the much loved Taxi Marshals and our award winning Safe Base make Falkirk a safe and friendly place for a great night out. Congratulations and well done to all our finalists and award winners who have been recognised for their high operating standards at a National level”.

Iain Meiklejohn, Sportsters Falkirk commented :  “For sportsters to have achieved 10 local gold awards in 10 years trading is a feat on its own and to bring home Nation Award for Best Bar is the icing on the cake.

However we couldn’t have maintained such a high standard without the support of other likeminded businesses as well as Falkirk Delivers, our local BID, and the infrastructure it offers. As a late night venue we have a duty to deliver a safe, friendly and enjoyable experience. This is supported by great local initiatives and the people who operate within these. The taxi marshals, safe base and street team are an invaluable life line in delivering our exceptional offering and we hope our partnerships continue.

Falkirk’s best bar none scheme offers an exceptional standard and our success at national level is also a showing of the calibre of venues we have in the district who all constantly push each other to improve on last year’s successes.”
