Falkirk venues prove they are Best Bar None

Thirteen venues across Falkirk are celebrating after receiving official accreditation at the Best Bar None 2015 Awards ceremony.

The event, held at The Corbie Inn, on Sunday 8th November, was hosted by TV personality, comedian and chef Hardeep Singh Kohli and marked the 8th year the awards have been held in the Falkirk area.

The Best Bar None scheme, which is sponsored by Diageo, Molson Coors, Heineken, Tennents and Maxxium and Chivas Brothers is an integral part of the Safer Areas Initiatives throughout Scotland.

Accreditation to the scheme shows the venue and its staff have met a level of standards that assures members of the public they will be able to enjoy a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

“Best Bar None focuses on customer safety and care and each venue that gains an award has demonstrated that it meets the standards set by the Government and the alcohol industry at a national level.

“We work with our accredited venues and our partner agencies in Police Scotland, the Scottish Business Resilience Centre, Falkirk Delivers and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to deliver a safer and welcoming night time experience for customers.

“Anyone looking for a good, safe night out should look out for a Best Bar None venue knowing it has been through a rigorous accreditation process and demonstrated high standards across

a range of important criteria.

“Congratulations to all the premises who have taken part this year.”

Licensed premises that wish to join Best Bar None are assessed by trained, impartial assessors and applicants are scored according to national guidelines. A panel of judges assess the applications and confirm that all applications have met the required standard. Venues are awarded either a Gold, Silver or Bronze award and an overall winner is selected in each category.  Overall winners go forward to the National Awards.

The Corbie Inn won the Heart of the Community award at the Best Bar None National Awards in 2014/15 and four other Falkirk venues were shortlisted.
